We at the Health Department have lots planned for the coming months, and we want to call your attention to the Journey to Wholeness Training (the 12 steps program adapted by the Seventh-day Adventist church, with a focus on the book ‘Steps to Christ’).
We have someone highly skilled from the GC coming to run the training for us, and we won’t be able to offer it again within at least 18 months.

UNITED BY FAITH BLOOD DRIVE:

United, we give. This year we’re joining forces with other faith-based Lifeblood teams for the United by Faith Blood Drive. The need for blood never stops, so we’ll be donating between 1 April and 30 June to save as many lives as we can.

Join Uni Church Lifeblood Team and get involved at app.donateblood.com.au/unitedbyfaith

DID YOU KNOW?

Just 9% of Australians have type O negative blood. As the only blood type that can be given to everyone in emergencies, it’s always in high demand. More O negative donors are needed right now. Visit @Lifebloodau to book your donation – https://app.lifeblood.com.au/nswDonateBlood

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE:

We want to save 150 lives during the drive, but we’ll need your help.

Did you know that 1 in 3 of us will need blood in our lifetime but only 1 in 30 people donate? And that every donation can save up to 3 lives! In Australia, a new donor is needed every 5 minutes. If you’ve never donated blood before, or have not donated for a while, we encourage you that now is the time to do it.

You can also donate your plasma. Plasma is a part of your blood that can be used in 18 different life changing ways! Bookings are essential.

Find out if you are eligible to give blood with the eligibility quiz on the life blood website.

You can book a donation appointment for:

50 donors will save 150 lives!

This is a simple and practical way for us to provide for those in physical need. Let us as a church community find more ways to tangibly show how we love our neighbour.

LIBRARY

Brandon Cobb (Brett Varvel) is a new Youth Director who takes over a youth group that’s filled with spiritual apathy in this film titled Play the Flute. As he tries to motivate his students to get serious about their relationship with the Lord, he finds himself in an uphill battle. Although discouraged by their indifference, Brandon sticks to his calling of boldly sharing the truth of God’s Word. What happens next is something Brandon and his students will never forget. Features Brett Varvel, Sean Ormond, Kenndy Tucker, Clint Howard, Fred Grandy and Loretta Swit. (Picture & blurb credit: https://www.christiancinema.com/digital/movie/play-the-flute).

If you would like to borrow this DVD, or browse the library for other inspirational DVDs and books for the whole family, the library is open each Sabbath morning before Church from 10.30 to 10.55.  If you haven’t already signed up to use the library, it only takes 5 minutes of your time and it’s FREELooking forward to seeing you.
If you have any library enquiries please email <avondalecolleg[email protected]>

THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY:

The Incredible Journey presents: The Chocolate Factory

It’s no secret that Australians love chocolate. On average, Australians consume 32 kg of chocolate per person per year. And what’s our favourite brand of chocolate? Well, it’s Cadbury! But the Cadbury family has shared more than chocolate with the world. They’ve shared something far more important. The high ideals and Christian legacy of the Cadbury family are still visible in our modern society.
