ANNOUNCEMENTS

This exciting new initiative has been in the works since late last year. If you are interested in connecting with a student in 2023, sign up HERE!
For many of our students, coming to Avondale Uni is their first time moving out of home and starting their journey as young adults. This initiative is aimed at University students to provide someone to mentor/be there in their new season and to bring them into a community of faith. For this initiative to be impactful, we need as many adults as possible to sign up to mentor our students. If you would like to connect and engage with our students please sign up.

For the regional youth & teens Pool Party & BBQ opening Sabbath social this Friday, drop off is at Avondale pool at 6 pm and around 7.30 pm we’ll head to the Youth Room (old Rejuve) and decked courtyard for BBQ dinner & opening Sabbath so pick up is 8.30 pm from Avondale Uni Church.

We want to make more of these doable & financially sustainable so are encouraging a $5 contribution to help cover dinner & the hire of the pool if possible.

LIBRARY

“BREAKTHROUGH is based on the inspirational true story of one mother’s unfaltering love in the face of impossible odds. When Joyce Smith’s adopted son John falls through an icy Missouri lake, all hope seems lost. But as John lies lifeless, Joyce refuses to give up. Her steadfast belief inspires those around her to continue to pray for John’s recovery, even in the face of every case history and scientific prediction. BREAKTHROUGH is an enthralling reminder that faith and love can create a mountain of hope, and sometimes even a miracle.” (koorong.com)
If you would like to borrow this inspirational DVD, or browse the library for other Christian books and DVDs for the whole family, the library is open each Sabbath morning before Church from 10.30 to 10.55.  If you haven’t already signed up to use the library, it only takes 5 minutes of your time and it’s FREELooking forward to seeing you.
If you have any library enquiries, please email <avondalecolleg[email protected]>

THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY:

The Incredible Journey presents: Sydney Convicts

It might be surprising to many, but the first Europeans to settle in Australia were actually petty criminals or, as they were known then, convicts. It may seem like a tragic beginning, but these prisoners took the opportunity to be exiled to a faraway land to start a new life. From a struggling and starving penal colony, they began to build a nation. There are many stories of courage, resilience, and ingenuity that tell how people found a new life.
