Be Your Sister’s Keeper / by Danii Marsters
In 2018 She Ministries centred its efforts around the declarations: Awake the Wonder, and Awaken the Brave.

She Ministries for 2019 will be building on the awakening of the brave new wonder-filled world we are called to occupy: knowing we are stronger together. Never before has there been a time more in need and more set to receive the love of Jesus.
“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”(Matt 9:37-38 NLT)
In 2019 we want to be part of what God is doing. We want to see God’s name move into places that have never been reached. Because it is time for his people to live awakened, freed to serve, called to be brave. Together we know we can make a beautiful and impactful effort towards the cause of Jesus.
In this time we are reminded in more defined ways that God has called us to be women of God and in-kind we are then compelled to look out for each other to be available for each other to encourage and inspire. When Jesus spoke on the Mount of Blessing he spoke of how we are to love one another, to be keepers of each other—to be our sister’s keeper.
The Bible in the original Hebrew uses the word SHAMAR which translates as the keeper. It means to keep watch and preserve. It describes a protector and defender. English dictionaries define a keeper as a person charged with guarding or caring for, storing, or maintaining something; a custodian, a guard, an iron bar that is placed on the poles of a horseshoe magnet. A part of a mechanism that catches or retains another part. A keeper plays the part of one who guards, defends, keeps together, or is the custodian of something. An iron bar is designed to maintain the integrity of what was designed to draw magnetic materials to it.
In all cases the keeper is an integral and intricate part of bringing about togetherness.
God is challenging us in this next season. We are women who are charged with caring for our sisters, keeping watch of the thing we most treasure—each other. He is calling us to be the women, to be the iron bar, that holds a strong magnetic force—that strengthens the younger generations and aligns them with life’s true north JESUS.
In 2018 our College girls have placed a high value on mentoring and seeking advice from the women of faith around them. These girls are just beautiful. It inspires me and gives me great hope for our future and for the generations to come. College Church women—we have young women, prepared to call out for help, young women with a heart posture that is leaning into the Spirit of God. We have young women needing the life-lived-earned wisdom of women around them. This speaks of an awakening and of a bravery that is moving across our women. It compels me to be more available, more present, and more open to what this next season requires of us all.
Our heart’s desire for our girls is that they are awakened to all of what God has called them to be. We believe the grace and favour of God is on all generations—each pushing the next on to greater and better things. Let our gift to this next generation of girls be a spirit of awakened bravery lived in a Jesus-centred togetherness.
In 2019 we must have a strong resolve. A strong determination to think deeper and love as our SISTER’S KEEPER. We believe with this as our added focus in 2019 we will see God move in a powerful way. How awesome that God wants to partner with us; it is incredible to think that he wants us to be part of what he is doing and to see his wonders released here on earth. We can’t wait for you to join us as we journey further in this direction together.
love,
Danii & the She Ministries team xo
